As required by law, smoking is prohibited in The Mills building. This includes all common areas of the building, including the main lobby, entrance vestibules, elevator lobbies, hallways, restrooms, fitness center, conference rooms, loading dock, garage, and rooftop terrace. In accordance with law, smoking within 25 feet of entries and outdoor air intakes is strictly prohibited.

As electronic smoking devices such as e-cigarettes, vape pens, e-hookah, and e-cigars are included in the District statutes of tobacco products, they are also prohibited from being used in the building.
